Cake Batter

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1½ tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ½ cup whole milk

  • 23 fresh peaches, sliced (or 1½ cups canned, drained)

Crumb Topping

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients and milk to make batter.
  2. Spread batter in greased 8×8 pan. Layer peach slices over the top.
  3. Combine crumb topping ingredients and sprinkle over peaches.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 40–45 minutes. Cool before slicing and serving.
