1 cup long grain white rice

½ small onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 cup tomato sauce

1¾ cups chicken or vegetable broth

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp ground cumin

Optional: pinch of chili powder or smoked paprika

Fresh cilantro and lime wedges for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse rice until water runs mostly clear.
- Sauté rice in oil until golden. Add onion and garlic.
- Stir in tomato sauce, broth, salt, and cumin.
- Simmer covered 18–20 min until tender.
- Let rest, then fluff with a fork and garnish.
