  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional for tanginess)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional for heat)
  • ½ tsp salt & black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening, optional)
  • Fresh parsley or green onions, chopped (for garnish)

💡 Pro Tip: For an extra depth of flavor, use smoked honey or add a splash of lemon juice!

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken

    • Pat dry the chicken thighs or breasts, then season with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the Chicken

    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Sear the chicken on both sides until golden brown (about 4–5 minutes per side). Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Honey Glaze

    • In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
    • Stir in honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, vinegar, and chili flakes.
    • Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  4. Coat & Cook the Chicken

    • Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it in the honey glaze.
    • Cook for 5–7 minutes, spooning the sauce over the chicken as it caramelizes.
    • If using cornstarch, mix it with 2 tbsp water, add to the skillet, and stir to thicken.
  5. Garnish & Serve

    • Sprinkle with chopped parsley or green onions.
    • Serve with steamed rice, roasted veggies, or mashed potatoes.

💡 Serving Tip: Drizzle extra honey glaze over the chicken before serving for an even richer flavor!
