Chocolate Cake – Moist, Rich & Easy to Make

Dry Ingredients

  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1½ tsp baking powder

  • 1½ tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)

  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup hot coffee (or hot water)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line pans.
  2. Whisk dry ingredients in large bowl.
  3. Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla.
  4. Slowly stir in hot coffee. Batter will be thin.
  5. Pour into pans and bake 30–40 min until set.
  6. Cool completely before frosting.
