Ingredients

1 loaf day-old bread (brioche, challah, or French)

2 apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), peeled & chopped

6 eggs

2 cups milk (any kind)

½ cup maple syrup

2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ tsp nutmeg

Pinch of salt

2 tbsp butter, melted
Instructions

Grease a 9×13” baking dish and add cubed bread and apples.

Whisk eggs, milk, syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt.

Pour custard over bread. Press gently. Cover and refrigerate 30 mins or overnight.

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Drizzle with melted butter.

Bake uncovered for 40–45 mins until golden and set.

Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or nuts.
